She drew forth all her self-training to keep her emotionless facade in check. In truth, it was easier than she thought. "Was that intended to frighten me? I already know you hold an enormous amount of power, that was why I surrendered to you."

"No, it was not intended to frighten you. I just showed you what I plan to do. Muradin is going to claim his birthright. I am going to bring back a need for the Riders."

"Why?"

"Because, I spent many decades after Deathwing was murdered, hunting down and destroying each one of the Riders. Every one. No one was left alive but me. I had no mercy, I killed women, children, and men alike. I tore that temple apart. It is my duty to rebuild it. If there are going to be new riders there needs to be a reason, Deathwing and I will be that reason. And, if your forces, Ember's forces, and the Riders do not succeed, then I will just have to try again. I will not give up."

She was silent, contemplative.

"So, this brings up two questions. First, am I still your enemy, and if so what are you going to do about it? And Second, If now you don't plan to start your war, how are you going to stop me from *convincing* your Partner to do it for me?"

"What ever gave you the idea I wouldn't start my war?"

"Because you know now I've been manipulating this playing field for a long long time. Because you know that if you fail, you and your son will be destroyed. You are also taking into consideration the tenuous relationship you may have to enter with Ember."

"Ember, I can stand. For one so unpleasantly niave acting, she hides a cunning depth in her."

"If you can so stand her then why do you plan to take her throne? You think she acts naive however, it is just a charade. She wants you to think she is that way, it builds your confidence. So, now that you know the surface of my plans, I've notice your demeanor towards me has changed. Why? Am I not the same person who you were speaking to earlier?" he asked carefully.

"No, you have not changed. And her throne is power, power is everything." She paused. "It is more useful than intelligence, kindness, love, strength or love. Power is greater than and is all of those things."

He laughed. It was cold. "Then you know nothing of true power. Her throne is not power, she is bound by the Council of Elders. Power is not greater than any of those ideals. Power is only a tool, whereas intelligence, kindness, love and strength are ideals. Power can be destroyed, an idea cannot."

"Power can also destroy."

He looked directly into her eyes. "Only if you can use it properly. Otherwise, it's like trying to watch a King's buffoon juggling blades."his voice was harsh.

"But if I am destroyed, no great loss."
